Its a CAPE TOWN Summer!

IT'S A CAPE TOWN SUMMER!
Can you believe it?

Already November and the days are getting much
warmer and our clothes are more vibrant, colourful
and a lot less... nothing more...

But as always, people are already starting to complain
about how hot it is... and speculating how hot its going
to get... "Fresh" from how cold it was a few weeks ago.

NEVER HAPPY WITH WHAT'S HAPPENING, are we?

Now one thing you must understand about Capetonians
and our way of live - our "culture" - especially in the Coloured
Communities. We complain about how HOT it is... then we
pack up everything on our way to the beach (Monwabezi /
Macassar / Strand / Gordon's Bay)... but the best part...

WE DON'T GO INTO THE WATER!

Not at all!

We're either too dressed up for the occasion...
We cannot afford for our Levi's / Nike's / Puma's or whatever
to get wet... Or better yet: We can't swim! LOL!

Yet we will always throw the Mountain (Table Mountain) and
the beaches in the faces of holiday makers (Gautengers, etc).

But whatever happens, and even if the temperature climbs towards
the 35 degree celsius, lets try and make this summer one to
remember...   all because its going to be a
CAPE TOWN SUMMER!

Cape Town Blues

Monday mornings... are they truly blue? Sometimes we have to wonder... But on rainy days like today, we can't but help feeling blue ourselves? Don't get me wrong - I'm a down to earth guy who loves life! I'm not too emotional (except with my family) - so I'm not too into the down and out hype of Monday's... But at times.. You know...

Felt like dead weight getting up today. Felt okay at first, but as soon as I got into the car my energy levels disappeared like the mist before me... Needless to say my only passenger - the wifey - wasn't too happy with me...

But what made my Monday blue was not this - no... what made it blue was the fact I got into Town and guess what - I had to struggle to find parking! Yes, I've got a little spot in the Bo-Kaap where I can rest my wheels while I'm at work - but even here it was full! And to crown it off you see open spaces only to find a loading zone or red line drawn... what is the City of Cape Town thinking? In a residential area?

Okay - there are general parking areas closer to work. They have made provision for this. However, at R5-50 per 30 minutes I'm not sure if I wanna work for parking expenses... Amounts to roughly R88-00 per day! Imagine!

Relaxed day - Company Gardens

As I've been away from the office this long - its weird to see how the office environment has adapted due to my absence. Needless to say, I'm taking things extra easy... loving all the attention, well-wishes and such. Even had the time to take a breather, and what better way then taking a stroll to the Company Gardens, Cape Town... A stone throw from my office! Simply breathtaking, hey? #I(heart)CapeTown

Man United 2012 Tour - Cape Town

Nineteen time English premier league champions Manchester United will take on Ajax Cape Town
at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 21 July 2012 - in a pre-season friendly -

and guess who has tickets?

The match between the Red Devils (Man United) and the Urban Warriors (Ajax) is also a bid to pay homage to Nelson Mandela on his 94th birthday.. the city has reported that it’s going to try to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the number of people singing collectively in one place by urging a packed out stadium to sing “Happy Birthday” to South Africa’s first ANC president.

Come this Saturday - we will be spending our Saturday afternoon bonding away over a game of soccer (football) - my son (Revano), his uncle (Justice), and a few extra friends / buddies. Heck, we plan to make a day of it... its going to be something to remember... Wish you were here? Kick-off at 15:00 (GMT + 02:00).
